Defining Project Scope

Doing worthwhile work - projects that make a difference for your firm - is a core goal of mine. We'll start with a conversation to discuss what you seek to achieve, your ideas about how to get it done, any limitations, and what resources we have to work with. I'll want to understand your objective, the tasks that need to be accomplished, and to get a handle on the broader context. I'll let you know right away whether or not I believe I can bring value, and we'll agree on when and how to make a formal proposal regarding our engagement.

The Impact of Marketing:

What does the buyer believe about your firm going into the sales pitch? Brand is everything: Each impression your firm makes in the market matters because they all define your brand. Do communications with the market and clients/prospects fully display the firms strengths? How is efficient integration between Investment Management, Sales, and Marketing achieved? How can PR be used effectively?

Product Management:

Who are the buyers for your discipline? What do they (generally) care about? How effectively do you deliver these attributes? Do the Sales and Marketing efforts emphasize these characteristics? How does the portfolio management team get unbiased market feedback?

Functional emphasis: Full Circle Communication

Leadership Development:

Is the firm leveraging a productive culture consistent with desired brand/image and Owners objectives? Does everyone know how they contribute to the key objectives? Are all team mates encouraged and committed to doing their best? Is the firm aware of vulnerabilities and have a plan to prevent future problems? Is there measurement and sound oversight of key activities?
